MQM founder's arrest: Pakistan to send its investigation team to London

Founder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was detained in connection with 2016 speech.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan has decided to send its team for investigation in a case pertaining to arrest of MQM founder over incendiary speeches.

According to Dunya News, a team of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been constituted in this regard. Director anti terrorism wing Mazhar-ul-Haq will lead the team of FIA.

The sources said FIA team would investigate MQM leader over money laundering and charges of hate speeches against the state. The team would depart for London after receiving a green signal from Scotland Yard.

Earlier, Founder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was detained in connection with 2016 speech.

London Metropolitan Police reported in a press release that a man has been arrested in connection with an investigation into a number of speeches made by an individual associated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in Pakistan.
