Armed clash between two rival groups killed at least 10 people in Jalalpur Pirwala on Wednesday.

JALALPUR PIRWALA (Dunya News) – At least ten people were killed and 17 others were wounded in an armed clash between two rival groups in Jalalpur Pirwala, a tehsil of Multan, in Punjab province on Wednesday, Dunya News reported.

According to details, member of one group were returning after offering Eid prayers when their rivals sprayed bullets on them killing eight persons, including a passer-by, were killed on the spot while 17 other were wounded. Two of the attackers were also killed in retaliation.

Tension spread in the area after the killings. A heavy contingent of police reached the spot after the incident and brought the situation under control. Police and rescue teams shifted the dead and injured to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. Later, 13 critically wounded persons were referred to Nishtar Hospital Multan.

On the other hand, bodies of the deceased were handed over to their heirs after post mortem. According to RPO Multan, four of the accused have been arrested by police while 11 teams have been formed to arrest the other accused.
