Under the project more than 18220 food packets would be distributed among the deserving

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Saeed Al-Malki on Tuesday said that Saudi Arabia has very deep relations with Pakistan as Riyadh always stands by Pakistani nation in the hour of need.

A project for the distribution of food packets among the poor in month of Ramadan has been inaugurated in Islamabad in collaboration with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal and Saudi Embassy.

Speaking on the occasion, the Saudi Ambassador said that, “We have deep religious and historic ties with Pakistan, adding that under the project more than 18220 food packets would be distributed among the deserving.

On the occasion, Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal chairman Aun Abbas said that all deserving families were selected transparently as we worked with other provinces and several districts for the selection of deserving and the poor.

"We are giving food packets without any political influence," said Aun Abbas. "Under PM s  Ehsas programme,’ Aftari [food with which the fast is broken] will be provided to 0.2 million people on daily bases."

Talking about flood affected areas in Balochistan, he went on saying that arrangements would be made for the provision of Aftari in flood affected districts and in the hospitals across the country.
