Punjab Assembly likely to pass local government act on Tuesday.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab Assembly is likely to pass the Punjab Local Government Bill 2019 on Tuesday (today) as the Private Members’ Day has been postponed.
According to details, two separate bills – Punjab Local Government Act 2019 and Punjab Panchayat and Neighborhood Council Act 2019 – will be passed today.
Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar has summoned a parliamentary party meeting at 01:00 PM for the approval of the local government act.
It has further been learnt that the bill will be forwarded to Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar today after approval from the assembly.
The municipal committees will be dissolved once the act is passed by the governor and a gazette notification is issued.
