Sharif family has no other option but to pay up or face imprisonment
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday proclaimed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has government’s support and the Sharif family has no other option but to pay up or face imprisonment.
During a press conference, the federal minister charged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz to be the main character behind the ongoing saga in Lahore since yesterday.
Sharif Brothers want law to conform to their wishes.
Fawad Ch stated, ‘Hamza Shehbaz is hiding inside the house using women and children as shield to avoid arrest.’
Furthmore, time has come to differentiate between crime and politics.
‘For the country’s sake we should refrain from using political shield against transgressions,’ he added.
There is ample evidence in cases against Shehbaz Sharif. Sharif family and Asif Ali Zardari both are accused of charges of laundering billions.
Pakistan was on the verge of default because of the previous government.
Meanwhile, PTI government’s positive steps are bringing economic stability. The government is introducing an amnesty scheme for overseas assets.
Federal Minister stated that a total of $37billion was spent on major projects in the country, while the external debt ratio since independence of Pakistan shot up from $37 billion in 2008 to $97 billion in 2018.
‘A major chunk of the $60 billion loan went into their pockets,’ he added.
He reiterated the government’s resolve to bring back the looted money. He pointed towards the behavior of the past government over the Model Town incident.
