LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz on Saturday strongly responded to what he termed as “dictatorial tactics of the undemocratic government”.

His response came amid arrival of NAB’s team, police officers and Rangers personnel at the residence of Sharif family for his arrest, over charges of money laundering and assets beyond known sources of income, in Model Town Lahore.

“Peaceful protest is the democratic right of party workers,” he said, while condemning the “baton charge on unarmed workers.”

He said that it was unlawful to arrest him according to the directives of the Lahore High Court (LHC), which he claimed required the NAB to inform him 10 days before his arrest. Subsequently, he urged the NAB to respect court’s orders.
