PMLN leaders to file yet another appeal for Nawaz Sharif's release

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders on Monday vowed to file an appeal against the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) decision that rejected a bail plea on medical grounds filed by former premier Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia reference.

They spoke to the media outside the IHC where Shahid Khaqan Abbasi expressed disappointment over the result and said “We are disappointed while five medical boards have recommended an immediate medical treatment to Nawaz Sharif.”

Sharif was handed seven-year sentence in the Al-Azizia reference case.

"We were hopeful that Nawaz’s bail will be accepted for his medical treatment," he said, adding that his party has always respected court decisions and respects this decision as well."

"We will adopt all possible legal way,” he announced.

Former defence minister Khawaja Asif also spoke to the media and said, “We will take all available legal routes against the decision as it is our right. We will also file an appeal. We are hopeful that justice will be served.”

An IHC bench including Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani rejected Nawaz s plea seeking bail and suspension of the sentence in the Al-Azizia reference on medical grounds.
