Karachi: Multinational naval exercise AMAN 2019 starts

KARACCHI (Dunya News) – Multinational naval exercise AMAN 2019 has on Friday started in Karachi. Beginning in 2007, the activity has regularly been conducted every 2 years.

This year’s edition is scheduled from February 8-12, where 46 countries are participating with ships and observers.

The exercise has two major phases: harbour and sea phases. Harbour activities would include seminars, discussions and demonstrations. In tandem, three days International maritime Conference will also be held on the topic “Global geopolitics in transition; Rethinking maritime dynamics in the Indian Ocean region.”

Furthermore, helicopters, submarines, bands of Pakistan Army and Rangers will also be a part of the activity. According to officials of Pakistan Navy, the purpose of exercise AMAN 2019 is to gather naval forces of all countries on one platform.
