Khokhar brothers obtain interim bail in land grabbing case

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Member of National Assembly (MNA) Afzal Khokhar, Member of Provincial Assembly Saiful Malook and their brother Shafi Khokhar on Tuesday obtained obtained an interim bail in a case of illegal occupation of 34-marla land.

The court approved their bail against a surety of Rs50,000 each.

Meanwhile, the court adjourned the hearing till Jan 19.

On December 25, Khokhar was arrested outside the Supreme Court registry in Lahore in an FIR lodged at the the Nawab Town police station.


Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) report on Khokhar brothers


Last week, the ACE in its report concluded before the Supreme Court that the Khokhar brothers had grabbed at least 40-kanal state land, whereas the accused had paid only one of the ten owners.

The report said that the Khokhar Palace was built on the occupied land, and they had obtained pre-arrest bails till the retirement date of the Chief Justice as they thought that no one would take action against them after CJ Nisar s retirement.
