PM tasks Fawad to persuade MQM, GDA leaders ahead of 'uncertain' political situation

The information minister is expected to present PTI's view on JIT report on money laundering

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary is expected to meet prominent politicians in Karachi on Monday following instructions from Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Reportedly, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government has been attempting to achieve consensus among various political parties concerning the current political scenario in the country, particularly following the report submitted by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to the apex court in money laundering case against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

In this regard, the information minister will attempt to persuade Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) leaders and put forth the government’s point of view.

Furthermore, he will conduct meetings with Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Ghaus Baksh Mahar, Ameer Baksh Bhutto, Ayaz Lateef Palijo and many other politicians.

According to sources, he will return to Islamabad on Wednesday.
