PIA degrees case: SC summons CAA, relevant depts' heads on Dec 24

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday has summoned to heads of civil aviation and other relevant departments on December 24.

While hearing the case, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar inquired that why the case is not being resolved despite passage of whole year.

Earlier, it was learnt during the scrutiny process of educational record of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) employees that 659 individuals had submitted fake degrees during the selection process.

It was informed to lower house of the parliament by minister of aviation in the written reply. The minister told House that 391 individuals have been removed, 251 are waiting for their cases to be heard while investigation against 17 are underway.

The House was also informed that PIA inflicted a loss of Rs43.65 billion on the national exchequer.
