(Dunya News) – Former finance minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday—for the first time—revealed that the previous government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz had taken bailout package from International Monetary Fund (IMF) to return the loans taken by the Asif Ali Zardari-led Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) during span of 2008-13.

He made these remarks in widely-watched show Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath.

Dar went on to say that incumbent government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has already wasted much time pertaining to approaching IMF for bailout package. He added, “[PTI’s] Govt should have finalized the tenets of bailout package with IMF early”.

While regretting that Imran Khan-led federal govt has no plan for economy, Dar warned that nobody would be willing to invest in Pakistan in an atmosphere when the govt itself is making pandemonium over poor economic condition.
