The closure of courts has disrupted the judicial system.

GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – The lawyers on Saturday have continued to shut district courts on consecutive fourth day in Gujranwala and demanded to ‎form Lahore High Court (LHC) regional benches. ‎

The closure of courts has badly disrupted the judicial system as more than 8000 cases were not heard in ‎these four days. ‎

On November 14, scores of enraged lawyers had demonstrated protest across the Punjab, demanding ‎to form high court benches.‎

The agitated lawyers stormed office of Deputy Commissioner Sardar Saifullah Dogar who was chairing ‎a session at that time.‎

Earlier, lawyers staged a march, while holding placards and banners, towards the LHC chief justice’s ‎courtroom despite being stopped by the police personnel.‎

They raised slogans for establishment of LHC regional benches and also warned to shut the district ‎courts if the demand was not met. ‎
