Travel ban on Sharifs: LHC issues notice to interior ministry

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Sunday issued notice to Interior Ministry on petition seeking removal names of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Capt (rtd) Safdar from Exit Control List (ECL).
As per details garnered, Hon’ble Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh began hearing of the case here in Lahore today.
As the hearing went underway, the petitioner informed court that Interior Ministry is not providing the copy of written orders pertaining to placing Sharifs on ECL.
The court issued notice to Ministry of Interior and sought reply in this regard.
Later, the hearing was adjourned till Jan 14.
The names of former premier Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz had been placed on the Exit ECL after orders of the Federal Cabinet.
