PM Imran hopeful govt will address economic crisis

The prime minister warned his ministers against negligence pertaining to professional matters.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan Tuesday reiterated his pledge the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government would overcome economic challenges.

Talking to the PTI Punjab members during his official visit to Lahore, Imran Khan said the joint opposition had no moral stance to back its protest movement against the government.

He appreciated the provincial government’s initiative to introduce shelter homes and inns in various districts of Punjab and directed departments concerned to continue with its anti-encroachment drive against land mafias.

The prime minister warned his ministers against negligence pertaining to professional matters. “We have to deliver on our promises. Our priorities must be public welfare. Opposition can only cause delays,” he said.

Imran Khan also met Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to discuss political, administrative, and economic matters of the province.

Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on the occasion briefed the prime minister Khan on the steps taken by the provincial government for implementation of 100 Days Agenda.

Usman Buzdar also briefed the prime minister about progress on the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme in Punjab.

Earlier, Imran Khan met Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar and discussed various matters.
