ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday issued notices to three female lawmakers belonging to the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party for allegedly concealing dual nationality.

Justice Amir Farooq heard a petition filed by a citizen named Abdullah who had moved the high court against the disqualification of Malaika Bukhari, Tashfeen Safdar and Kunwal Shozeb under articles 62 and 63 of the constitution.

His counsel Ahmed Raza Kasuri argued that the two lawmakers concealed their dual nationality, whereas the third provided wrong information to the Islamabad High Court.

Malaika Bukhari had dual nationality till the last date of submission of nomination papers, whereas Tashfeen Safdar concealed information pertaining to her dual nationality, he said. Kunwal Shozeb provided false information to the court at the time of change of vote, he added.

Justice Farooq while issuing notices to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the three lawmakers adjourned the hearing.
