55 vehicles to be auctioned in second phase of austerity drive

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – As many as 55 luxury cars will be auctioned in the second phase of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government’s austerity drive.

The carpool includes 49 vehicles of the Prime Minister’s House and six vehicles of the National Assembly Secretariat and their auction will take place on October 17 and 24 respectively.

Twenty vehicles are bulletproof while 27 are non-bulletproof. The government has also decided to put up for auction nine cars, which were purchased during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif.

The vehicles will be displayed for public inspection on October 15-16 at the Prime Minister’s House. Furthermore, the Federal Board of Revenue, which will monitor the auction process, has reduced taxes on the vehicles.
