He says a legislation was must to combat money laundering cases in a befitting manner

ISLAMABAD (APP) – Advisor to Prime Minister on Accountability, Barrister Shahzad Akbar on Monday said that there was need to work for legislation to controlling money laundering in the country.

Urging political parties for strengthening national institutions, he said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB), was working independently in the country.

Commenting on money laundering cases of high officials, he said cases were registered against Shahbaz Sharif in 2007, while case of Asif Ali Zardari, was under process with supreme court, he added.

A legislation was must to combat money laundering cases in a befitting manner, he said.

He urged the politicians sitting in the lower and upper houses to work for strengthening institutions to achieve speedy progress for the people of this country.
