ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday penned a letter to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) claiming arrest of Shehbaz Sharif was tantamount to pre-poll rigging.

As per details garnered, PML-N’s Raja Zafar wrote the letter and apprised electoral body that Shehbaz Sharif was summoned in Saaf Pani scam whereas he was arrested in Ashiana Housing scam.

Zafar asserted that Shehbaz’s apprehension highlights ill-intentions of the incumbent federal govt. He added, “ECP should take notice of Shehbaz’s arrest and direct National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to release him”.

“In bid to divert attention from below par performance of the government, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led (PTI) federal govt got Shehbaz arrested. It is an attempt to influence results of upcoming by-polls”, claimed Zafar.

Zafar urged ECP to bar NAB from such steps which might influence by-poll.

Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday has been handed over to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on a 10-day physical remand to probe Ashiana Housing scandal.

Shehbaz Sharif, who was arrested by NAB on October 5, was produced before the accountability court amid stringent security arrangements in view of PML-N workers convergence outside court premises.
