The House authorized the Senate chairman to change the composition of committee on election-rigging

ISLAMABAD (APP) - The upper house of Parliament on Friday passed a motion authorizing the Senate chairman to nominate ten members in parliamentary pommittee, investigating allegations of rigging in elections held on July 25.

The House authorized the Senate chairman to change the composition of committee on election-rigging which will comprise 30 lawmakers including 10 Senators.

According to this motion, five Senators will be from treasury and opposition benches each.

Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani also admitted an adjournment motion for two-hour discussion in any of the next sittings. This motion was moved by Senator Mian Muhammad Ateeq Shaikh and it was regarding the lack of modernization and the Agency could not finalize the investigation in important cases.

The House also passed three motions, granting extension to Senate Standing Committees on Interior and Water Resources for presentation of their reports.
