Abbasi was taken to Lahore on early morning.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi on Thursday has been shifted to camp jail in Lahore from Attock Jail.

Abbasi, who has been facing life-imprisonment in ephedrine quota case, was shifted to Attock jail on the directives of DIG Rawalpindi after his photograph with ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif inside Adiala Jail surfaced.

On July 22, special anti-narcotics court sentenced PML-N leader to life imprisonment for selling as much as 500kg of controlled chemical ephedrine to the narcotics smugglers.

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had registered the case against Abbasi and his accomplices back in June 2012 under various sections of the Control of Narcotics Substances (CNS) Act.

The anti-narcotics court had indicted Hanif Abbasi and the other accused in 2014.
