Analysts believe FM Qureshi presented Pakistani viewpoint well than Nawaz Sharif

Speech of FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi was in Urdu and quite comprehensive but results are yet unknown.

(Web Desk) – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi attended the United Nation General Assembly session this year. His journey from standing on queue at Islamabad International Airport to speaking in Urdu in General Assembly fetched him much attention not only in Pakistan but also across the border in India. He pointed out crucial factors indeed. Those who were accustomed to listening to conventional words on this platform were awestruck seeing FM speaking bluntly on issues like brutality in Occupied Kashmir and cross border terrorism. He went on to say India is an obstruction in the way of peace and tranquility in the region.

Scholars widely believe FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi presented Pakistan’s view point much more clearly than erstwhile government’s representatives including Nawaz Sharif. In Think Tank program of Dunya News, senior analysts said speech of FM was better than ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and he straightforwardly spoke on the issue of Kulbhushan Jadhav. He furthered added though UNGA is not that effective still no one can from its significance.

On the other side, Ayaz Mir stated that principal discussion forms in the world are OIC and UNGA. India took keen interests in listening to the speech of Pakistani FM. He declared Qureshi’s speech comprehensive. Reputed news analyst Salman Ghani stated Minister of External affairs Sushma Swaraj’s speech was poisonous but conventional. Shah in his meeting with General Secretary of UN raised constant human rights’ violations in Kashmir.

The reality is that Shah’s speech was not conventional. He stated everything that erstwhile rulers were reluctant to say. Out of blue, he delivered speech in Urdu and raised serious concerns vis-à-vis Indian behavior. Most important of all, he termed India a trouble-maker in the region. Reaction from across the border is yet to be seen; effectiveness of his speech is yet to bear fruit. The upcoming time will reveal the exact situation.
