PEPCO announces 6 to 12 hours load shedding

The Pakistan Electric Power Company on Monday announced its load shedding schedule for 6 months.

According to the new schedule, from April to September the markets will have 5-hour a day, urban areas 6-hour and the rural areas will face 8-hour a day electricity load shedding. Cement, textile and raw material industries will be exempted from the load shedding. The flour and ghee industries will have 4-hour, furnace and steel mills will face up to 12-hour and agricultural tube wells will have 10-hour a day load shedding. The independ¬ent¬ i¬n¬dust¬ri¬a¬l fe¬e¬de¬rs will suffer a power outage for 6-hour a day.The PEPCO authorities said that the low power generation in the country could extend the load shedding up to 12-hour a day.
