Fake-accounts case: FIA submits report in SC

As per rough estimates, Pakistanis own assets in abroad worth $150 bn.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday has submitted its written reply in Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) in case pertaining to fake accounts.

The reply states that FIA has acquired details of 2750 Pakistanis who possess assets worth Rs110 bn in Dubai whereas Dubai Land Department has been approached for further details.

The investigative body further apprised court that 54 criminal cases have been lodged against those possessing assets abroad.

The report states a plea seeking mutual legal cooperation should be submitted with authorities of UAE for recovery of assets.
