Khan to make announcements on key positions in Punjab, Centre within two days

(Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and PM-in-waiting Imran Khan is expected to make announcements on key position in both Centre and Punjab within two days.

As per details garnered, the names for the posts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief ministers have not surfaced thus far.

Earlier today, Imran Khan presided over huddle of party’s core committee at his residence in Bani Gala. Sources privy to PTI told our correspondent that top brass has taken several key decisions in the meeting and finalized names of candidates for the posts in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Centre.

It was also decided in the meeting that Imran Khan will take oath in President Secretariat.


Punjab


Thus far, as many as 23 independent MPAs-elect (member of provincial assembly) out of 29 have pledged their allegiance to PTI. One MPA-elect have joined ranks of Pervez Elahi’s PML-Q whereas six have not made any decision.


With amassing support from PML-Q, the PTI’s tally in Punjab has soared to 154.


KP



PTI has secured two-third majority in KP Assembly in General Elections 2018. The nominees on key position is yet to be announced.


Centre



Ambiguity continue to persists on situation in Centre. PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry has claimed that party has garnered support of as many as 168 lawmakers. Including fresh joining, the tally soared to 170.

MNA Asim Nazeer from NA-101 and Amjad Khosa from NA-190 and six MPAs namely Taimoor Lali, Mohsin Atta Khosa, Taimoor Khan, Alamdar Qureshi, Mehar Aslam and Khurram Leghari met Jehangir Tareen and decided to join PTI.

Three more MNAs from Balochistan are likely to meet PTI chairman Imran Khan in Bani Gala today. Akhtar Mengal will also be among them.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has yet not made any clarification that whether they are joining Imran Khan in Centre or pledging allegiance to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Sindh.

On the other hand, BAP has announced unconditional support for PTI in Centre, In return, PTI has announced to support BAP’s candidate for CM’s slot in Balochistan.
