MQM-P puts forward various demands to join PTI-led government

MQM-P demanded to construct university in Hyderabad and to issue funds to the mayor.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has put forward various demands to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led (PTI) government in National Assembly.

The party, after consultation with Rabita Committee, has demanded to stop targeted operation and to reopen its offices in Karachi. It also asked to hold vote recount in 12 constituencies of Karachi.

MQM-P further demanded to construct university in Hyderabad and to issue funds to the mayor.

Earlier, a meeting between the party leaders and PTI delegation headed by Jahangir Tareen held at MQM-Pakistan headquarters in Karachi.

Talking to newsmen, MQM-Pakistan Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that mandate given by people to political parties should be honoured and hoped that PTI leader will address the reservations of political parties. He added that the PTI offer will be kept before Rabita Committee meeting.

PTI leader Jahangir Tareen said that MQM-Pakistan has been requested to be a part of federal government. He said that major issues of Karachi like drinking water and other problems will be solved on priority basis. 

PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry claimed to have secured majority at centre and announced to form government.

Fawad stated that PTI has obtained support of as many as 168 lawmakers in National Assembly and 180 lawmakers in Punjab Assembly.
