Case registered for Asad Umar's corner meeting firing incident

The First Information Report (FIR) was filed against unknown suspects.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad police on Saturday registered a case against aerial firing in the corner meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umer’s corner meeting.

The First Information Report (FIR) was filed against unknown suspects in the presence of police in Ramna police station.

The FIR maintained that PTI’s corner meeting was underway in sector G-10 on Friday when few vehicles of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) passed by them.



The personnel deployed on duty stopped the PML-N rally in view of possible emergency situation. At the same time, a fire was heard from an unknown direction following which four simultaneous shots were fired.

None has been nominated in the FIR and no arrest has yet been made.

Racing ahead of other parties in election campaign, PTI is scheduled to hold rallies in four cities today (Saturday). The party will exercise their political muscle in Karak, Bannu, Islamabad and Lahore.

Preparations for the gathering have been completed in the four cities. PTI chief Imran Khan will address the public and party workers.
