The PML-N spokesperson says Nawaz is being forced to sleep on floor and served substandard food.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb has alleged maltreatement of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in prison.

Speaking on ‘Nuqta-e-Nazar’ ahead of July 25 elections, Marriyum said Nawaz is being forced to sleep on jail floor and his personal physician is not allowed to meet him.

“Only the doctors assigned to Nawaz (by the jail authorities) check on him. Nawaz and Maryam are not allowed to meet each other... but that has not deterred their rsolve,” she added.

The PML-N spokesperson said Nawaz Sharif is not being provided with home cooked food. “He at one instance was served substandard mutton. A three-time prime minister is being treated like this,” she added.

Earlier today, several PML-N leaders and members of the Sharif family met Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz in Adiala Jail after their arrest.

A total of 15 people including Pervez Rasheed, Ayaz Sadiq, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz met the former PM.

The jail authorities have barred convicts’ counsels, Khawaja Harris and Amjad Pervez from meeting them today.
