SHANGLA (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday lashed out at Nawaz Sharif, saying the former prime minister couldn’t provide solid proofs to court in corruption cases.

“Nawaz Sharif and his daughter are returning to the country as if they have won the World Cup,” the PTI chairman told supporters during an election campaign rally at Besham.

Stressing the need for collective efforts to root out corruption from the society, Imran said if elected his government would ensure across-the-board accountability, and build schools and “world class hospitals” across the country, while farmers would get cheap loans.

“This system cannot run unless we stand up with the downtrodden,” he said. “I am standing with you, it is time to make new Pakistan.”

Imran, a former cricket captain of Pakistan, has portrayed the legal cases against Nawaz as a long-overdue corruption crackdown on the PML-N, which he has labeled a graft-ridden “mafia”.
