The ex-president said that political motivated cases were made against him

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former president and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday in his reply submitted in the Supreme Court said that allegations of corruption and inflicting loss to national exchequer against him proved false.

PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari submitted his reply in the apex court in case pertaining to National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).

In his reply, the ex-president said that political motivated cases were made against him.

He said that he had no role in making NRO a law, adding that the cases against him were withdrawn in 2007 under the NRO law, however, the cases were reopened after the court suspended NRO.

Asif Zardari further stated that allegations against him of looting national exchequer and damaging the country could not be proved.

It is pertinent here to mention that a citizen namely Feroz Shah had filed a petition against the PPP co-chairman and former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf.
