Musharraf says he needs a response from the court that he will not be put on the ECL

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday said that he wanted to return to Pakistan but he is still to come to a decision on whether to travel to Pakistan or not.

In his interview with the UAE-based newspaper on Wednesday, he said: "I haven t decided, adding that there are many issues involved and I am weighing all the pros and cons over the next few days and I will then take a decision."

Musharraf said that he also needs a response from the court that he will not be put on the Exit Control List (ECL).

He further said that he has always talked in the interest of Pakistan.

The former president said that violence against minorities and especially Muslims has reached to its peak in India.

Commenting about the former BBC weather girl and ex-wife of PTI chairman Imran Khan, Reham Khan’s book, he said that Reham Khan shouldn’t have written several things in the book.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had ordered Musharraf to return to Pakistan and appear before it on June 13 but then extended the deadline to 2pm today.

CJP Saqib Nisar said that the apex court was not bound to accept Musharraf’s condition regarding guarantee for his return, as the court has already granted him protection by letting him to practice politics in Pakistan without any fear.

He said that if Musharraf is a commando, he should come to Pakistan instead of mis-committing like politicians. Didn’t you get afraid when you took over the country, he asked.

If Musharraf has ‘tremor’ disorder how will he participate in general elections 2018, he asked.
