Provincial assemblies of Punjab, Balochistan stand dissolved

Chief ministers of both provinces will continue to hold their offices until caretaker CMs take oath.

LAHORE/QUETTA (Dunya News) - Provincial assemblies of Punjab and Balochistan dissolved at 12:00midnight after completing their five-year constitutional terms, Dunya News reported.

The provincial cabinet ministers also lost their ministerial portfolios with the dissolution of the assemblies. However, the chief ministers of both provinces will continue to hold their offices until the caretaker chief ministers take the oath.

National Assembly was also dissolved after completing its five-year constitutional term. Justice (retd) Nasir-ul-Mulk will assume the charge of caretaker prime minister today (Friday).

Meanwhile, provincial assemblies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh were dissolved on May 29 after completing their constitutional terms.
