NA to be dissolved today as federal govt's tenure ends

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs issued a notification today.

(Dunya News) – The federal government is all set to complete its five-year tenure bestowed on it by the Constitution following which caretaker set up will take reigns of Pakistan for the next two months.

On coming Friday, President Mamnoon Hussain will administrater oath to Justice (retd) Mulk who will then run country’s affairs.

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs issued a notification with regard to dissolution of the current National Assembly.

"In pursuance of Article 52 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the National Assembly shall stand dissolved on the expiration of its term of five years on the 31st day of May, 2018," read the notification.

On the other hand, the provincial assemblies of Balochistan and Punjab are also set to complete their five-year term 12am tonight.
