Former president and PPP co-chairman felicitates Parliament on FATA-KP merger bill

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former president and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman Asil Ali Zardari on Friday while expressed happiness over passage of "The Constitution Amendment Bill, 2018", paving the way for merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), said that the South Punjab will also become a separate province.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Friday, he said that he had summoned a grand jirga when he was president and said FATA must be merged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The former president said that PPP leader Farhatullah Babar had worked tirelessly for the merger of FATA with KP, adding that the amendment wasn’t passed in his tenure because former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was playing a double game.

He felicitated the Parliament on the passage of "The Constitution Amendment Bill, 2018", paving the way for merger of FATA with KP and said that development would increase with this initiative.

The PPP co-chairman further claimed that the South Punjab would also be made a province and all political parties will vote for it.

He further hoped that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would meet the hopes of entire nation by holding free, fair and transparent elections.

“The PML-N supremo always plays a double game,” he said and added Pervez Musharraf was allowed to go abroad on the order of Nawaz Sharif.

We are not with Establishment but Pakistan, Zardari said, adding Mian sahid should tell he is with Pakistan or any other force of the world.
