Rao Tehseen was sacked as principal information officer (PIO) for his involvement in Dawn leaks

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday while restoring Rao Tehseen and appointed him as the Director General Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation.

Rao Tehseen was sacked as principal information officer (PIO) for his involvement in Dawn leaks.

On April 30, 2017, he had been removed from the position of Principle Information Officer (PIO) in Press Information Department (PID) which comes under the Ministry of Interior.

Tariq Fatemi was also removed from the post of Special Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs as a result of implementing the inquiry committee’s recommendations on the issue of Dawn leaks.

Action was proceeded against Rao Tehsin under the E&D Rules 1973 under the charges based on findings of the instant Dawn Leaks report by investigation committee.
