Ex-military officers among nine summoned in golf club lease case

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – An accountability court (AC) on Saturday summoned nine accused including three former generals and a brigadier in case pertaining to illegal lease of Railway Golf Club.

The accused are facing allegations of causing Rs2 billion damage to the national exchequer.

The court while issuing summons ordered Lieutenant General (r) Javed Ashraf Qazi, Lieutenant General (r) Saeed-ul-Zafar, Major General (r) Hamid Hassan Butt and Brigadier (r) Akhtar Ali to appear before the court.

The court also ordered former Railways general manager (GM) Iqbal Samad Khkam, former member finance Khursheed Khan, Abdul Ghaffar, Ramzan Sheikh, Pervaiz Qureshi and Royal Palm Golf Club sponsors to appear in the next hearing.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had said that the former officers of Railway Golf Club illegally leased the club inflicting a loss of Rs2 billion to the national exchequer.
