PSP to stage protest against prolonged power cuts in Karachi today

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) is all set to stage protest outside the office of K-Electric against continuous electricity load shedding in Karachi today (Friday).

Holding a press conference, PSP leader Anees Qaimkhani has also invited Chief Minister of Sindh (CM) Murad Ali Shah to join them in the rally.

Earlier, Sindh CM had expressed support to Jamat-e-Islami’s protest against power outages and also indicated to hold sit-in in Islamabad against federation for not resolving the energy crisis.

He said that he will be writing a third letter to federation over load shedding issue.

Sindh CM asserted the province that produces natural resources is being deprived of basic needs, adding that 73 percent of Sui Northern company is being owned by federal government.

It is to be mentioned here that Karachi is facing load-shedding of more than 12 hours daily on the name of technical glitches.

The locations that are affected by the power cuts are Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, New Karachi, Federal B Area, Liaquatabad, Orangi Town, PHCHS, Nazimabad, Korangi, Landhi, Old City Area and Lines Area.

Industrial areas are also hit by 8 to 10-hour unscheduled load shedding.
