Karachi heats up as temperatures continue to rise

(Dunya News) – Temperatures in Karachi are expected to rise as high as 40 degree Celsius with the Meteorological Department forecasting that the ongoing heat wave will continue till Friday.

The month of March is yet to end but the forecast by the Met office indicates that the temperatures are likely to continue soaring in Karachi. While the temperatures were expected to go as high as 40 degree Celsius on Monday in Karachi, the forecast for the rest of the week also indicates that mercury will continue to rise.

According to Director Met office, Abdul Rashid, temperatures will continue to remain high till Friday, fluctuating between 37 degree Celsius and 38 degree Celsius. However, after Friday he said temperatures are expected to drop back to 32 degree Celsius to 33 degree Celsius.

Intense heat has troubled the citizens of Karachi, who have been facing extreme heat waves during the March-April season over the past few years.

According to Met office, currently there is no threat of heat stroke due to the rising temperatures. However, citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures to protect themselves.
