LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former army chief General (r) Pervez Musharraf has claimed on Tuesday that no National Reconciliation Order (NRO) can save former premier Nawaz Sharif.

The former dictator conversed with anchorperson Kamran Shahid in Dunya News programme ‘On The Front’ and said that NRO was brought in the past after King Abdullah intervened however, this time around, there is no one to save Nawaz Sharif.

He claimed that there would remain no connection of Nawaz Sharif with politics once corruption probes are concluded.

Musharraf asserted that all the corruption allegations leveled against Nawaz Sharif stand correct and that it is his misunderstanding that he would drive the country towards prosperity.

He criticising Nawaz Sharif by claiming that he did not do anything for the country after been elected to federal power for three times. Nawaz has never been popular in the army circles, Musharraf said.

General (r) Musharraf said that he invariably enters a confrontation with incumbent Army Chief. He cited his experience with the former premier while conversing with Kamran Shahid.

He asserted that all the army leaders have good intentions towards the appointment and said that they are fully aware of the thinking patterns of soldiers.

While answering a question about Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Musharraf branded marrying Asif Ali Zardari, slain Benazir’s biggest mistake. She knew of his corrupt practices, Musharraf asserted.
