Thieves and dacoits are criticising the judges: Sheikh Rasheed

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed has said on Tuesday that he admits Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) defeat in Lodhran NA-154 by-polls against ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Rasheed conversed with Kamran Khan in programme ‘Dunya Kamran Kay Sath’ and said thatvictory and failure are part of the politics and that he admits PTI’s defeat in NA-154 Lodhran by-election. The opposition has failed miserably in Lodhran but the parties are not hopeless, he said.

AML chief said that General Elections 2018 are months away and PTI and PML-N would contest for power in Punjab while PTI would enter power struggle with other political parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Rasheed accused former premier and president of ruling PML-N, Nawaz Sharif of following the agenda once pursued by Sheikh Mujeebur Rehman and is targeting judiciary in accordance with a meditated strategy.

‘Thieves and dacoits’ are criticising the judges, AML chief complained.

Nawaz Sharif should have been served contempt of court notice for launching anti-judiciary campaign, Rasheed said. The party leader complained of Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s stance over Nawaz’s ouster.

PM Abbasi is of the opinion that verdict of the top court against Nawaz Sharif should be trashed, AML chief said.

Sheikh Rasheed further said that a lawmaker who was ‘born in nurseries of the military’ is challenging state institutions.

He complained that Nawaz Sharif, not once, uttered Indian convicted spy Kulbhushan Jadhav’s name and that he is threatening the judiciary while Indian government is piling weaponry at Chabahar.
