Accountability court has also directed to ensure attendance of the three suspects.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The accountability court has on Monday summoned Federal Investigation Agency’s Additional Director Wajid Zia along with original report constituted by Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT) at hearing of Avenfield case on February-22.

As per details garnered, the accountability court summoned Zia as National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) prosecutor pleaded for his appearance while stating that presence of original record is a compulsory for recording statements of two witnesses via video link.

The accountability court also directed authorities to ensure attendance of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) president and ousted premier Nawaz Shairf, his political heir apparent Maryam Nawaz and Captain (rtd) Safdar at hearing on Thursday.

It is pertinent here to mention that Wajid Zia—head of Joint Investigation Team which carried out probe into Panama Papers—would appear before court first time in the presence of Nawaz Sharif.

Nawaz and his family are also facing trial in Azizia Steel Mills, Hill Metals Establishment, and over a dozen offshore companies, including Flagship Investment Ltd.
