COAS exempts TDPs from Watan cards for payment of compensation

COAS met Saudi Arabia's ambassador in Rawalpindi today.

(Dunya News) – Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday has exempted temporary displaced persons (TDPs) of Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) from Watan cards for payments of compensation.

Director-General Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor made aforementioned announcement through his twitter account.

“COAS directs for facilitation to Tribal brethren in FATA. Watan Cards earlier issued as ID document for payment of compensation to TDPs no more required. Henceforth CNIC will be taken as ID document. Those without CNIC can use Watan Card till 31 May 18 and obtain CNIC by then”, tweeted Ghafoor.

 The TDPs were previously issued Watan Cards to assist them in the monetary compensation as well as identification.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Pakistan called on army chief in Rawalpindi to discuss overall security situation of the region.



In a press release, ISPR stated that Pakistan Army will dispatch additional contingent of troops to Saudi Arabia to give training to their Saudi’s counterpart. ISPR stated that not even a single Pakistani soldier would be posted outside Saudi Arabia’s territory.

The two brotherly states agreed on further cementing already strong ties.
