Iqbal Khan demanded of KP government to arrest fugitives involved in his son's mob lynching

BIRMINGHAM (Dunya News) – Family of the Mashal Khan – the Abdul Wali Khan University student murdered in mob lynching over alleged blasphemy – asked the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to arrest the released suspects as they announced to challenge the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) verdict in Peshawar High Court (PHC).

Talking to a press conference in Birmingham on Wednesday, Mashal’s father Iqbal Khan spoke against the ATC verdict in which the prime suspect Imran has been given death sentence with five given life imprisonment while 26 suspects acquitted. The court has also sentenced 25 accused for four years in prison each

He admitted that the court order reflected his stance and appreciated the verdict. He lauded the efforts of KP police who tried their best to nab the culprits in the mob. Iqbal made an appeal to the KP government to catch those suspects who have been either released or rooming freely as fugitives. He mentioned that the PTI chief Imran Khan didn’t fulfill his promise of renaming Swabi University before Mashal Khan.

On the other hand, Mashal s mother said their family still awaits complete justice in the case. She pleaded that those released in the murder case should be declared culprits.

His mother requested that such incident should not happen in future, asking to protect the young souls in the country.

Mashal’s brother told that they are consulting the matter with their team of lawyers and hoped for justice. He said the KP police officials are in contact with him. “No one can fulfill the unavailability of his brother,” he grieved.
