The petition was rejected by an additional sessions judge.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – A petition to lodge treason cases against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz regarding contempt speeches has on Wednesday been dismissed by the sessions court.

The petitioner had opted the stance that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz made anti-judiciary remarks while addressing a convention in Model Town and provoked people against judiciary.

The speeches by ousted premier and his daughter may spread anarchy in the country, the petition said.

Additional sessions judge rejected the plea after listening to arguments of both parties and examining the police report.
