Dense fog envelops parts of Punjab, disrupts traffic

The Met Office has predicted rain on Monday and Tuesday.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Thick fog on Sunday has continued to envelop different areas of Punjab, including Lahore and Gujranwala, badly disrupting the traffic.

Different Motorway sections were shut down due to zero visibility, and the authorities advised the drivers to take precautionary measures and travel safely by using fog lights.

Dense fog also disrupted flight and train schedules. Faisalabad, Multan, Narowal, Bahawalnagar, Sadiqabad and other plain areas remained covered with fog while traffic on National Highways was affected due to poor visibility.

On the other hand, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. Temperature dropped below zero degree Celsius in mountain areas and Balochistan.

Temperature recorded in Skardu was -8, in Kalam -7 and in Quetta -6 degree Celsius. The Met Office has predicted that spell of rain is likely to start in Islamabad, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan on Monday and Tuesday.

Snowfall has been predicted in mountain areas.
