Multan: Three more people fall prey to seasonal influenza, toll reaches 37

MULTAN (Dunya News) – The outbreak of seasonal influenza has continued to take lives in Multan as three more people have been fallen prey to the disease, taking death toll to 37.

According to details, 45-year-old Amir, 40-year-old Nasir and 50-year-old Dolat Bibi have lost their lives during the treatment.

The increasing cases of seasonal influenza are also creating fear among the administration of Nishtar Hospital as the disease is rapidly spreading across the metropolis.

239 patients were admitted to Nishtar Hospital among which 119 were carrying the virus.

The doctors have advised the residents to take precautionary measures and also urged them to hold their proper checkup for timely identification of the disease.

Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had submitted a resolution in Punjab Assembly against the increasing number of seasonal influenza patients.

The resolution notified that Multan’s people were affected most from this acute disease while the virus has also reached Islamabad, Vehari and Muzaffargarh.

The resolution demanded that steps should be taken across the province on emergency basis to prevent the life-threatening virus.
