He admitted that the suspect would not have been caught without forensic lab

LAHORE (Dunya News) – In an attempt to clarify why senior officials of the Punjab government clapped during the joint press conference to announce the arrest of Zainab’s murderer, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah told that they did so for the encouragement of police after their big breakthrough in the case.

He reacted to the concerns of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khurshid Shah. “We clapped during conference to encourage the police official.”

Shah had expressed anger over Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif for clapping during press conference after arresting Zainab’s murderer. Speaking in NA, the leader asked whether clapping over this heinous crime is justified, adding that 1100 children have fallen prey to such incidents so far in Punjab. No investigation was launched in cases reported during 2016 and 2017, he added.

Rana Sana questioned the role of media, asking where all the coverage was when previous incidents of rape surfaced.

He admitted that it would have been impossible to catch the suspect without the forensic lab. He took a hit at the PTI Chairman, saying the latest lab is change with destroying other people’s homes is not.

Rana Sanaullah mentioned that Nawaz Sharif appeared before the accountability court despite his ailing wife in London. Shehbaz Sharif too appeared in NAB, he added.

He told that their concerns over the appointment of monitoring judge in corruption references against Sharif family in NAB were called reasonable by the senior lawyers. “Monitoring judge shouldn’t be in the case,” he said.
