At least 196 suspects appear before ATC in PU vandalism case

LAHORE (Dunya News) – At least 196 suspects appeared before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday for ransacking the pioneer festival and torching the Electrical Engineering Department.



On Tuesday, a case was registered against the students and sections of terrorism were included in it. Moreover, the university administration suspended at least 35 students.

While classes resumed the following morning, clashes between students were reported once again on Tuesday evening.

The Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif had taken notice of the incident and had directed a probe into the incident. Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has also urged the university administration to take strict action against all those involved.



Heavy contingent of police personnel are currently present outside the university to control any untoward incident.
