KASUR (Dunya News) – The shutter down strike against the brutal killing of seven-year-old girl Zainab after rape has continued on second day in Kasur as all the markets and educational institutions are closed to mark protest.

According to details, the enraged local besieged civil hospital and chanted slogans against the administration. They also blocked main road for traffic.



The protesters, who also held sit-in at Steel Bagh Chowk, demanded to hang the culprit in public so that no such incident will happen in future.

Meanwhile, high court bar association in Islamabad also announced strike and condemned the mishap. The lawyers will not attend judicial proceedings at the court today.



In Peshawar, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) women wing also demonstrate protest outside Press Club against Zainab’s murder and demanded early detention of the suspect. The protesters said that they have taken to the streets as mothers to seek justice for daughter of the nation.



In Faisalabad, the locals blocked district council chowk and staged protest by holding banners and chanting slogans. They said that the children in Pakistan are not safe due to inefficient performance of police.



Minor students in Karachi also took to the streets and offered Fateh for Zainab.



Stick wielding protesters stormed member of provincial assembly (MPA) Naeem Safdar’s residence and burned his car.

On the other hand, funeral prayers of those died in police firing have been offered in Kasur.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif reached the house of seven-year-old Zainab and assured the bereaved family of provision of justice in the case.

The spokesman for Punjab government, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan and top police officials also accompanied CM Shehbaz during the visit.

Zainab was kidnapped six days ago from Road Kot when her parents left for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. The girl was strangled to death after being raped. Police officers recovered her body from a garbage heap near Zaki Ada.

Her funeral prayer was led by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Tahir-ul-Qadri and offered by flocks of people.

Many politicians, activists condemned the death of the young girl and urged to bring the culprits to justice in tweets that flooded Twitter.

It is to be mentioned here that as many as 12 children have been killed after rape in Kasur in one year whereas police officers have killed three people involved in such criminal activities.
