Seven-year-old Zainab's rape, murder in Kasur shocks Pakistan
Police officers recovered Zainab's body from a garbage heap near Zaki Ada.
KASUR (Dunya News) – The enraged locals on Wednesday took to the streets against the brutal murder of a seven-year-old girl after rape and demanded to hang the culprit in public.
Zainab was kidnapped six days ago from Road Kot when her parents left for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. The girl was strangled to death after being raped.
Police officers recovered her body from a garbage heap near Zaki Ada.
Her funeral prayer was led by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Tahir-ul-Qadri and offered by flocks of people.
Talking to media, Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Zainab’s murder is humanity’s insult. He held Punjab government responsible for the mishap and said that the leaders have no right to stay in power now as they cannot secure the lives of the innocent people.

A shutter down strike was observed in the metropolis against the killing while enraged lawyers also boycotted judicial proceedings at district bar and urged to take action into the matter.
Father says no burial until culprit caught
Bereaved father of the minor girl had vowed to not bury body of her daughter until the culprit is nabbed however, burial was performed at around 09:00pm tonight.
Spokesperson of Punjab government claimed in an exclusive interview with Dunya News that the perpetrator would be nabbed within few hours.
While talking to the media, father of the murdered minor complained that the police did not cooperate with the family to find the missing girl. He said that neighbours and relatives continued search for late Zainab day in day out.
The grieving father said that police did not shoulder their responsibilities.
Protest turns violent
Meanwhile, police officers resorted to aerial firing when violent protesters tried to storm commissioner office. The eyewitnesses said that two people have been killed while three other sustained severe wounds in the clash.
The injured have been shifted to the hospital for medical assistance whereas the security personnel are busy in dispersing the locals.

Punjab CM directs swift action to arrest suspects
A First Investigation Report (FIR) has also been lodged against the assailants on the directives of Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif, who strongly condemned the heinous act and also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, enraged lawyers boycotted judicial proceedings at district bar in protest and demanded early action into the matter.
LH CJ takes notice
Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) Mansoor Ali Shah took notice of the incident and sought report from police officers and session judge in Kasur.
He strongly denounced the mishap and announced to bring the culprits to justice at any cost.

While condemning the tragic incident, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa assured full support from the army to civil administration to arrest the criminals and bringing them to exemplary justice.

Many politicians, activists condemned the death of the young girl and urged to bring the culprits to justice in tweets that flooded Twitter.
It is to be mentioned here that as many as 12 children have been killed after rape in Kasur in one year whereas police officers have killed three people involved in such criminal activities.
